Well, that was a hot one. As we emerge from the heat wave that gripped our area for the past couple days, temperatures are starting to return to reasonable just in time for another summer weekend. From chill vibes at Hayfields to heart-thumping thrills in South Salem, there’s something to suit every mood and energy level this weekend.

Unwind in the garden

Hayfields Market hosts Happy Hour in the Garden every Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. For $40, you’ll get three small appetizers, two glasses of wine or beer, and one dessert. Acoustic ambiance and local artist features are no additional charge.

Gather ‘round the campfire

The Ruth Keeler Memorial Library is hosting s’mores and stories in the library backyard. Bring a blanket and get cozy under the stars.

Get your adrenaline pumping
The South Salem fire department carnival is back! Bring the family for classic small town carnival fun, including rides, games, food and prizes. Wristbands are $25 per person for unlimited rides.
Friday, 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.; Saturday, 5:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Go bargain hunting at a barn
The Sherman Historical Society Barn & Book Sale is back after a long pandemic hiatus. The barn is stuffed to the gills with quality items, including estate donations, antique furniture, collectibles, art, fine china and crystal and much, much more. Come early before all the good stuff is taken.
Friday - Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Clean out your attic

The Lewisboro Library is accepting donations of gently used, high quality books and items for the attic treasures sale. Donations can be dropped off at Onatru Farm.
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road
The Bedford Playhouse is hosting the Yellow Brick Road Fest, a fundraiser to help bring quality programming to the Playhouse. The event takes place on a beautiful Bedford farm, with carnival-style games, a Kansas-themed BBQ and a screening of The Wizard of Oz under the stars. Tickets are required.
