Your weekend weather forecast for North Salem

If you're thinking about outdoor plans for the weekend, be prepared to be very flexible. The weather forecast looks highly changeable, with plenty of chances for thunderstorms and periods of heavy rain, particularly in the afternoons.

To kick things off,  we're starting the weekend with an air quality alert. The National Weather Service has issued an air quality health advisory for Northern Westchester.  This means that people should consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity, especially those who are sensitive to the effects of preexisting respiratory problems, such as asthma or heart disease. The alert is in effect until 11 p.m. Friday.

Friday: Starting off with patchy fog before heating up to a high in the low 90's. There's a slight chance for thunderstorms on Friday.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m. Some of those storms could produce heavy rainfall. 70% chance of precipitation

Sunday: Again, showers and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m. Slightly lower chance of precipitation - 60%.
