What to do in and around town this weekend
Another spring weekend is upon us. The weather is expected to be spring-like and relatively dry, so there's plenty of opportunity to get outside and get exploring. Below, we've rounded up things to eat, see, do and discover around our area this Saturday and Sunday. What are you most looking forward to doing?
First – get a bite
Check out Gossett’s Farmers Market
at Gossett Brothers Nursery in South Salem. At this year-round market you can stock up on organic produce, free-range eggs, artisan baked goods, jams, meat and fish from several vendors. The market also features handmade arts and crafts from local creators.
9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.
Then – get artsy
It’s Third Weekends at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
in Ridgefield, CT. See current exhibitions, view exhibition-related films in The Studio and listen to audio tours led by curators, all for free.
10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
First - get muddy
Embrace our proximity to nature’s wonders with an exploration of vernal pools at the Trailside Nature Museum in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Prepare to get wet and muddy as you explore woodland pools and the creatures that call them home.
1:00 p.m. Call 914-864-7322 to register.
Then - get musical
Join Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts for a free conversation with the Callisto Quartet and Ara Guzelimian, Artistic Director of the Ojai Music Festival, for a talk about Bartók.
